Your DJ FAQs

You’ll get top-quality music, professional sound, and impressive lighting—all at competitive rates. We customise each event to suit your unique vibe and guest mix.


We DJ weddings, private parties, corporate events, school functions, and fundraisers—essentially any event where great music and smooth flow matter.


Certainly! We'll arrange a meeting with you before the event to discuss the playlist and make sure it reflects your tastes. Additionally, we welcome song requests from your guests during the event to further personalize the experience.


We provide all the essential equipment for sound, microphones, and lighting, tailored to your event's size and guest list. This includes speakers, cables, stands, a wireless handheld microphone, and our dance lighting package where appropriate. Please be aware that we currently do not supply projectors, photo booths, or smoke/fog machines.


For a seamless and successful performance at your event, we require:

  • Access to the venue at least 2 hours before the start of the event.
  • Parking availability at the event location.
  • Adequate electrical outlets within 50 feet of the designated DJ equipment area (standard household outlet capable of handling 2000 watts).
  • Proper protection for the DJ and equipment from outdoor elements like sun and weather, if the event is outdoors.
  • A banquet table, either 6 or 8 feet long, draped with linen and a table skirt.


Yes! Prior to your event, we'll collect your preferences so the playlist reflects your style and guest demographics.


Definitely. We’re happy to meet in person or over a video call to finalize all the details and make sure everything is dialed in.


If the event runs longer than 4 hours, it’s appreciated if a vendor meal is provided. This helps us stay sharp and fully focused on keeping the event running smoothly.


No problem—just keep us in the loop. We’re used to working with a variety of spaces and can adapt our setup to make things work.


Gratuity is not part of the final contract price. Like other service industries, a tip of 10 – 20% is commonly recommended if you are satisfied with your DJ's performance. However, the choice to tip and the amount is entirely up to you.


Since we receive numerous requests each week, our schedule fills up quickly. We recommend contacting us as soon as you have your event date confirmed, to ensure we can reserve our availability for your special day.


To book our services, please call us at 250-574-5349 or email us at info@yourdj.ca. We'll check our availability and then arrange a phone call or an in-person meeting to finalize the service contract. A 10% deposit is required at the time of contract signing.
